Patients are inundated with promises of miraculous transformations, yet few ingredients actually possess the robust, peer-reviewed clinical evidence required to back those claims. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is one of the rare, shining exceptions. It is not just a trend; it is a fundamental pillar of modern dermatological therapy.

While the terms "niacin" and "niacinamide" are often used interchangeably, it is crucial to note that for topical applications, niacinamide is the gold standard. Unlike pure niacin (nicotinic acid), which can cause vasodilation—leading to the familiar, uncomfortable "niacin flush"—niacinamide is exceptionally well-tolerated, even by those with the most sensitive skin.
